Nucleic Acid and Metabolism Presentation

Description

you will create a powerpoint research presentation about any disorder of Nucleic Acid, Heme or Iron metabolism that you can find in chapters 23-25 of the book attached below. The presentation must follow the outline listed in the instructions and each topic must have at least one full slide with detail either on the slide or the separate script that you will write so i can do a voice attachment for each slide. the script must be more detailed and thorough than what’s on the slide and not just reading off the slide. there is a 10 min time limit, so reading the script and going through the whole slideshow should be at least 7 mins. you need 10 scholarly citations minimum all in AMA format.

VIDEO PRESENTATION ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
The video assignments in this class are designed to encourage scientific inquiry and literature
review into diseases that arise from altered biochemical pathways or enzyme-catalyzed reactions.
Secondly, they are aimed at helping the student develop capacity for scientific data collation and
communication.
INSTRUCTIONS
You will choose a metabolic disorder from the Module: Week’s readings and submit a detailed
video or PowerPoint with audio presentation on the chosen disorder. You should research the
disease extensively using at least 5 peer-reviewed journal articles or textbooks. Be sure to use the
suggested outline for your presentation. Refer to the grading rubric for a breakdown of the points
allocation. The presentation has a 10 minute time limit. There should be at least 10 citations all
in AMA format.
VIDEO PRESENTATION: DISORDERS OF NUCLEIC ACID, HEME OR IRON METABOLISM
•
Using the suggested outline below, give a detailed research presentation on any disorder of
Nucleic Acid, Heme or Iron metabolism of your choice. You should employ scientific
sources/literature including review articles in your research and be sure to use the AMA
format. It should be detailed, comprehensive, well-organized and should have the appropriate
language for scientific communication.
Outline:
– Introduction
– Epidemiology
– Etiology
– Types/ Classification
– Signs/ Symptoms
– Normal and Abnormal Biochemistry
– Pathologic Features/Genetic Basis of Disease
– Laboratory Features
– Differential Diagnosis
– Management/ Treatment
– Complications
– Prognosis
– Current/ Future Research (Including Clinical Trials)
Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin plagiarism tool.
