A “Think Piece” takes the lines of Problem, Thesis, and Argument of a particular book or journal article. It is a critical/issue-oriented writing review that enables you to challenge the assumption(s)/position of an author. It will require you to pose critical questions and offer responses in the form of a thesis (arguable position), and then put forward a persuasive argument. It must include: (a) The organization and coherence of your ideas (b) The clarity of the position you have taken on an arguable issue (c) Your selection and use of information as evidence to support your argument (d) The logic and persuasiveness of your analysis and argument (e) Adherence to all writing instructions, for example using gender-inclusive language, and (f) Careful and meticulous proofreading.
