Assignment #2 is an “evaluation/review” essay where you can choose anything you want to review. Most students choose either a movie, book, album/CD, or restaurant, but you aren’t limited to these. The key when writing an “evaluation/review” essay is to develop a set of “criteria” for which your chosen “thing” should meet in order to be successful. Your assignment sheet gives a good thorough example of what this could look like for a movie. But, as another example, for a restaurant you may feel you should have a good environment, great service, good food, and an affordable bill at the end. Very few restaurants meet all these criteria. But, if you chose to review Logan’s Roadhouse, you may ultimately decide that it meets three out of the four criteria, and is therefore an overall successful restaurant.
