New York University Public Health Communication During a Crisis Discussion

During times of crisis, such as mass shootings and gun violence good communication among public health experts, through the media to the public is of important. Therefore, the news media play a critical role in disseminating knowledge to public.

Public health researchers, on the other hand, can use social media to modify messages and disseminate their work to whichever audience they desire. Therefore, social media is the most effective way to disseminate knowledge because it is the most popular way people communicate.
